Thanks to everyone who came down to our very first Easter event here at Peaks Top Farm, and helped make it a huge success.
The weather was kind to us with blue skies, bright sun and…..a biting wind at times! Not that it deterred the hundreds of children who kindly brought their parents and grandparents down to help them solve the clues around the farm, and win an Easter egg. By our calculations we gave away just short of 300 eggs to all those clever clogs!
For those of you who missed out we had plenty on in addition to the Easter egg trail. Our Fabulously Fruity fruit wine was open to everyone over the age of 18 to sample, and, for a small fee, take a bottle home with them!
Our pop-up cafe was also back in its home in the old Winery building serving hot drinks, cakes, as well as juice and chocolate nests for those hungry egg hunters.
Two lucky people walked away with a giant Easter egg having been the closest to guess the number of balloons filling our big blue tractor. For those who would like to know there were 203 balloons in there on Saturday, and 218 on Sunday.
Our “Guess the Height of the Christmas Tree” competition was also very popular with another two visitors being invited back in December to chose their own Christmas tree…..currently growing in our fields. Again for all those keen to know the answer….17ft 6 inches.
After this year’s success we are planning to be back next year with a new trail and maybe something special for the adults.
