Can you believe it is only five more days until the start of our third annual “Fabulously Fruity” Christmas Fayre! Whilst we are not sure quite how 2014 has disappeared so quickly, we are busy packing, making, tidying and decorating ready for next weekend.
Following on from last year’s two day event we are continuing the theme with doors (and tent flaps) opening at 10am each day. The fayre will be hosted in various buildings across the farm, and our newly erected outdoor marquee.
Hot and cold drinks will also be available in our cosy farm barn, together with a selection of home made cakes. Next week looks like being a baking frenzy of chocolate cake, carrot cake and victoria sandwich, together with some other older favourites from the recipe book (currently the subject of much debate down at the farm as we argue the case for the cakes we love the most!).
In keeping with our commitment to making local products, the fayre adopts the same philosophy with our craft and food stalls being manned by local producers. The wonderful array of produce being sold will surely tempt you into buying a small treat for yourself, or help you to find the perfect present for a special person in your life.
This year we have an even wider range of stalls than previously including a number of food producers allowing you to sample local honey, cheese and cakes. With a week to go we have twenty seven confirmed stalls.
In addition we will be holding wine tastings throughout the fayre for our “Fabulously Fruity” fruit wine, which is grown, made and sold on the premises. This year we also have some special new 3 and 6 bottle gift packs for sale.
Peter will also be on hand to take orders for his Christmas trees – these go on sale from Saturday 29 November and sold out last year so get in early!
