Around Easter weekend often marks the start of our main run of country fairs, farmers markets and specialist produce markets and we’ve been on the road visiting Lincolnshire and Beverley’s Wednesday Market.
We’re hoping to make the Beverley Wednesday Market a regular feature of our fruit wine events calendar and will be in Lincoln regularly throughout the summer attending the City’s Farmers Market.
Discover Lincolnshire Food and Drink Market
The weekend before Easter (Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March) we took part in the “discover Lincolnshire” food and drink market along Lincoln High Street (as you can see from our cover photo taken whilst we were setting up). Saturday was a fantastic day in all respects: we had some great weather, met some wonderful new (and old!) customers, and, importantly, sold wine! Whilst setting up we also had the chance to view neighbouring stalls and ended up stocking up on cheese and relishes.
As is often the case with English weather two days in March are seldom the same, and so it proved. On Sunday the weather took a decided turn for the worst and we were left shivering whilst we were serving up samples of fruit wine. Luckily we had taken some of our homemade Mead which is a great drink for keeping the cold at bay!
Beverley’s Wednesday Market
Tomorrow (Wednesday 8 April) we can be found at the inaugural local produce market at Beverley, East Yorkshire. This will be a special launch event for Beverley’s Wednesday Market.
Full Range Of Fruit Wine For Tasting!
The organisers promise a whole host of food from local cheeses and cakes, not to mention the full range of our “fabulously fruity” range of natural fruit wines (as usual visitors to the stall will be able to sample our full selection). Cookery demonstrations and activities for children will also be taking place. The market will be officially opened at 10am by the Beverley mayor and will continue until 3pm. For full details on the day check out the website.
To get everything ready we will be up early to pack the truck before hitting the road at 7am to give us plenty of time to set up the stall. So if you decide on a fun foodie day out come over and say “hello!”.
